A new addition to the Visual Studio family, the emphasis of this development hub is to be an online companion to the desktop version, Visual Studio Code. When you need to make a quick edit or need to join a teammate's live share session, but you don't have your tools, this software can help you. It lets you perform tasks in your browser, so you can work effectively from any device. Visual Studio Online is based on Visual Studio Code, so it supports all the extensions that the latter supports. However, while it provides convenience, this program is not meant to be a developer's default environment but a way for you to access your Visual Studio projects remotely.
